Salary Range: $2,454.00 to $3,776.00 bi-weekly based on their experience and level of post-secondary education.
What you'll do
Responsibilities
As part of the School of Trades and Apprenticeship and reporting to the Academic Chair of Metals Processing, the instructor plans and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.
Specific instructional areas and courses within the program will include related subjects in the full scope of the trades (but not limited to):
- Safety
- Trade-related math and physics
- Welding, rigging
- Blueprint reading
- Other trade-related subjects as required.
The successful incumbent must be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Required qualifications for this opportunity include a high school diploma or equivalency.
A valid Red Seal license in the Welding Trades with related years of work experience.
Preference may be given to candidates with at least three (3) years of related, recent work experience at the Journeyperson level.
- Preference may be given to candidates with experience teaching in a blended delivery format in a post-secondary environment.
Professional Skills:
- Highly flexible with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to navigate and build relationships effectively throughout the organization.
- Working Knowledge of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, analytical ability, and innovative thinking.
- Self-motivated, service and results-oriented.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a team.
