Job descriptionCashier and customer sales Preparing merchandise orders, banking, and miscellaneous paperwork Placing small items (under 10 lbs) such as pet supplies and household items into stock General store maintenance including sweeping and dusting Unloading deliveries of pet food and supplies (up to 50 lbs.) and stocking items Opening and closing the store following company procedures In the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Manager, assign daily goals and tasks to team members Other duties as required At least 2 years of retail or customer service experience Working knowledge of POS systems Outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays Reliable transportation to and from the store A valid driver’s license may be required

The Pet Valu family of stores includes Pet Valu, Paulmac's Pet Food, Bosley's, Tisol, and Total Pet. We are one of the largest retail operations in North America dedicated to providing families with food and supplies for dogs, cats, companion birds, wild birds, fish, reptiles, and small animals.
All our stores are committed to helping local pets in need. We partner with local shelters, rescues, and charities for adoption events, in-store adoptions (select stores only), pet food bank programs, and participate in national donation drives and fundraising campaigns.
At Pet Valu, we're Pet Experts and pet lovers. Our Keyholders ensure consistent store operations, recommend the best products and services, and help create the healthiest, most playful lives for pets.
