The Greater Victoria School District provides public educational services to over 20,000 students in the Greater Victoria Area, encompassing six municipalities. To provide this service, the District has a current operating budget of $210 million and employs approximately 3,500 staff; which includes, teachers, principals and vice-principals, support staff, psychologists, speech and language pathologists and exempt managerial staff.
Reporting to the Manager, Fleet and Transportation, the School Bus Driver operates a school bus to transport students in accordance with District Bus Drivers’ Manual, NSC Safety Manual and School District Policy.
The Bus Driver position is a 10-month position working a minimum 20 hours per week. The Bus Driver works a 4-hour split shift (2 hours am and 2 hours pm) Monday to Friday.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate must have :
Grade 12
Valid Class 2 British Columbia Driver’s License with Air Brake Endorsement
Level 1 First Aid and CPR certificate
Minimum of 2 years bus driving experience
This position falls within the CUPE 947 Collective Agreement at a pay rate of $31.23 per hour, plus a comprehensive benefits plan after successful completion of probation.
