Are you a someone who is looking for more meaning in your work?

PARC Retirement Living is an award-winning developer and operator of independent senior-living communities. We're seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our Oceana PARC team in White Rock.

About working at PARC

PARC communities are made for active seniors; inspiring spaces where aging adults come to live well and engage with a vibrant community of like-minded people. PARC gives residents the freedom to live independently, nurturing their physical and mental well-being.

As an Administrative Assistant, you are on the frontline of communicating our values to residents and families, while also providing a variety of administrative, reception and support services. This includes:

  • Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere by greeting residents and visitors.
  • Answering phone calls and responding to requests from residents and visitors - along with other reception duties, such as answering inquiries, organizing service requests and assisting with transportation bookings.
  • Entering data into our Yardi system, ensuring accuracy and posting charges with the relevant manager's approval.
  • Scheduling Housekeeping and Reception teams, preparing bank deposits, booking rooms, issuing monthly-rate-increase letters, taking meeting minutes, tracking office inventory - and other administrative duties as needed.
  • Responding to emergency calls and assisting with security issues.
  • Assisting with recreation programs and events.
  • Supporting Food Service, Housekeeping and other departments as requested.

The perks of PARC Hospitality

  • Meaningful work. How many hospitality jobs can say that? At PARC, you'll be making a positive difference in seniors' lives, each and every day.
  • A true living wage. PARC is a Living Wage Certified Employer!
  • Refreshments while you work. PARC's chef-prepared cuisine rivals the best in BC, and we offer subsidized daily meals and beverages to employees.
  • Flexible hours and location. We're open to scheduling when and where it works for you - with guaranteed shifts every week. PARC has five great locations across the Lower Mainland.
  • A supportive, diverse team and training opportunities. We believe in giving our people opportunities to advance wherever we can.
  • High-value benefits. We offer Extended Health, Vision, Dental, Life, AD&D and Disability Insurance, plus an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), to help protect your health, family and way of life. Plus: birthdays off with pay, parental top-ups and much more!

It takes a special kind of person to work here - does this sound like you?

  • You're an upbeat and engaged team member who brings positive energy to all you do.
  • You have a Grade 12 education or equivalent, and at least three years of reception experience in a similar environment, with a strong focus on customer service.
  • You're consistently professional and courteous; able to interact tactfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • You have exceptionally strong computer skills and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, and customer relationship management systems (Yardi).
  • You have current First Aid and CPR certifications, along with WHMIS
  • You understand and respect the needs of seniors, their families, and other professional services engaged with our residents.

At PARC Retirement Living we require a Criminal Record Check, and a TB test within the first month of employment.
