Job description

Are you a supply chain professional with extensive knowledge in the field? This 12 months contract role with an opportunity for renewal may be a right fit for you.

General Description

  • The Supply Chain Professional Level 1 is accountable for delivering assigned outcomes related to the development and execution of category / project supply chain strategies, sourcing strategies and / or sourcing activities following established processes and quality requirements.
  • This role would generally be assigned low to medium complexity and / or risk work assignments with minimal oversight or medium complexity and / or risk work assignments with more oversight.

Responsibilities

The Supply Chain Professional is accountable for delivering assigned outcomes related to the development and execution of project / project supply chain strategies, sourcing strategies and / or sourcing activities following established processes and quality requirements.

  • Medium to high complexity and / or risk work assignments(primarily project or program work) with minimal oversight.
  • A minimum 5 years - 7 years of sourcing, at a progressively complex environment, preferably in a complex public procurement environment.
  • Develop and plan the implementation of sourcing strategies or related work packages by using excellent skills in communication, analysis, critical thinking, planning / project management, supplier / market research, problem-solving, and facilitation of decision-making in a large and complex organization.
  • Implement sourcing strategies or related work packages using a thorough understanding of sourcing processes and standards, good project management practices, knowledge of public sector procurement law, and the appropriate application of relevant supply chain concepts.
  • Lead and / or support projects / programs that may include developing and conducting competitive sourcing events (eg. RFPs, RFSQ, RFT, etc.). May include developing and conducting multi-stage RFx's.
  • Sourcing activities may also include First Nations directed procurement, province wide and global initiatives, and working with other utilities on joint initiatives (eg. Telus, Fortis).
  • Qualifications

    Education and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field such as Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Finance, or equivalent
  • Certificate or additional education in Supply Chain Management, an asset
  • Certificate or additional education in Project Management, an asset
  • Must Haves :

  • Understand the full cycle for an RFP process - contract execution. Be able to work with different individuals.
  • Communication & written skills, strong attention to detail.
  • Proactively ask for information, and be able to develop scope of work.
  • Customer service approach to clients
  • Nice to have :

  • Public procurement experience, utilities preferred.
