JomboneOliver, British ColumbiaThe Role : As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Correctional Health Services, you will provide compassionate, client-centered care to incarcerated individuals. You will assess, treat, and manage their physical and mental health needs while ensuring safety and security. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you will deliver personalized care plans and respond to medical emergencies.
Responsibilities :
Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration, chronic condition management, wound care, and mental health support.
Perform health assessments, monitoring changes in inmates' physical and mental conditions.
Ensure accurate medication administration, including controlled substances, in compliance with safety protocols.
Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver integrated care for inmates.
Respond to medical emergencies, providing triage and stabilization before transport if needed.
Maintain accurate documentation, adhering to regulatory standards and security protocols.
Requirements :
Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) in your province or territory.
Experience in correctional health services and emergency care is an asset.
Knowledge of chronic disease management, medication administration, and mental health care.
Strong clinical skills in wound care, IV therapy, and emergency response.
Ability to work effectively in a high-security environment while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
Strong communication skills to interact with diverse populations and healthcare teams, ensuring confidentiality and ethical standards.
