We’re currently seeking an experienced Senior Substation Electrical Engineer (Layout / Primary) with a record of accomplishment in delivering substation engineering design and engineering packages for utility and utility-scale renewable energy and distributed generation projects. The successful candidate will assist us in expanding our scope of services in the growing renewable energy fueled power generation market.
This position can be worked out of our Toronto or Calgary offices.
The Opportunity :
- Lead the engineering and design for utility and utility-scale renewable projects.
- Contribute to the overall design of full electrical systems for HV / MV substations, including solar plant, power plant, wind farm, distributed generation, energy storage and microgrid.
- Participate in proposal preparation, cost estimates and project management.
- Preparing high-quality technical reports on studies related to substation design.
- Perform studies such as grounding (step and touch), bus force calculation, and lightning protection (rolling sphere or direct angle).
- Mentor and develop junior staff, promote learning from successes and problems within the group.
- Maintain, foster and develop client relationships.

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Toronto is $110,000 to $138,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
