Maintenance & Reliability Engineer NIA
We at Raise are hiring a Maintenance & Reliability Engineer NIA Part Time 20 hours a week for one of our top clients. After establishing themselves as an industry leader, they’re now expanding their team to meet rising demand. Our client is one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada.

Description
The Maintenance & Reliability Engineer in this role will play a critical role in supporting the development of asset maintenance, operations, and management strategies for new assets located in remote communities, primarily in Northern and North Coastal British Columbia. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and maintainability of critical equipment, including batteries / containers, battery energy management systems, power conversion systems (inverters), MGC / DER controllers, and 600-25kV transformers. You will work closely with various teams, including OEMs, SFO & Maintenance Engineering, and SAP teams, to develop and implement effective asset management and maintenance engineering solutions.
Accountabilities
- Asset Management : Develop asset management plans relating to short- and long-term maintenance and replacement of equipment.Establish spares strategies, collaborating with OEMs, SFO & Maintenance Engineering, and defining program-level category IDs for key equipment.Develop procurement strategies for specialized equipment replacements (outside of warranty periods).Collaborate with SAP teams for the creation of new asset categories and hierarchies.
- Maintenance Engineering : Develop new maintenance standards, procedures, and instructions, referencing OEM literature.Create Field Inspection and Test Plans.
- Develop Safety & Work Methods. Support the development of safe work procedures for maintenance and operational tasks.Assist in assuring equipment meets SPR / WPP requirements applicable for NIA stations.
- Reliability Analysis : Apply reliability concepts, principles, and methods to assess system performance and identify major contributors to system uptime.Utilize reliability tools such as Failure Modes / Effect Analysis (FMEA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify root causes of equipment faults and problems.
- Maintenance Technologies : Apply various predictive and condition-based maintenance technologies.Reading and understanding drawings and manuals to articulate how a system works and how the system can fail and what needs to be done to prevent failures either from a design or an effective maintenance standpoint.Hands on ability to take equipment apart and reassemble it.CMMS and Documentation : Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.
