NSCC's FlexWork Policy outlines specific parameters based on role requirements.ResponsibilitiesWhat you will be doing…The Provincial Coordinator will play a key role in advancing the mental health and wellness of post-secondary students across Nova Scotia by coordinating activities under the HealthyMindsNS (HMNS) Campus Wellbeing Initiative, the objectives of which are to : Increase mental health literacy, increase student awareness of mental health and wellness resources, decrease stigma and increase help-seekingCreate healthy campus cultures that promote wellbeing and embrace equity, diversity, and inclusion; enhance student resilience, and build student competencies in wellness advocacy and peer leadershipThis initiative aligns with provincial priorities, the Okanagan Charter, and the National Standard for Mental Health and Well-Being for Post-Secondary Students.The candidate will work closely with the provincial HMNS Committee, Department of Advanced Education, program leads from post-secondary institutions, and student organizations. The Provincial Coordinator will support the provincial team of student wellness champions across participating post-secondary institutions in Nova Scotia . Key responsibilities will include : Oversee the program's implementation, ensuring alignment with best practices and student needs.Review and update program materials; develop and deliver training sessions for student wellness champions.Establish and maintain relationships with key contacts at NS Department of Advanced Education, participating institutions; student groups, and the HMNS committee.Provide ongoing support through weekly planning and debriefing sessions with student wellness champions.Coordinate data collection, including the Canadian Campus Wellbeing Survey;Develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation plan.Compile program reports; provide administrative support to the HMNS Committee.Occasional travel throughout the province will be required.QualificationsQualifications and Occupational ExperienceA post-secondary degree in a related discipline such as Health Sciences, Student Affairs, Social Work, Public Health, or Health PromotionYou have a minimum three (3) years (full-time equivalent) of recent occupational experience that is directly related to this position, which includes project management, program coordination, or related roles, preferably within the education or mental health sectors.You are comfortable working in a digital environment and have a proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook for communication.You have experience in program development, project management, training and facilitation and evaluation.You have experience supporting / providing services to students.Relevant Skills and KnowledgeYou demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, accessibility and anti-racism.You have knowledge of mental health promotion and wellness strategies within post-secondary education.You have outstanding interpersonal skills, allowing you to connect with diverse individuals and effectively navigate and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy.You possess strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with various stakeholders.You have proven problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to address challenges in program implementation.You have experience in evaluation, including the ability to design and implement evaluation frameworks, analyze data, and assess program impact.You have proficiency in using project management tools, digital communication platforms, and data management systems.About Nova Scotia Community CollegeWe value Diversity and InclusionThe College values diversity and inclusion and is committed to employment equity.
