Position description
e Department of Politics & International Relations at Mount Allison University invites applications for a full-time Tenure Track position in Comparative Politics. The Department is looking for candidates with a regional specialization in one or more of the following areas : Latin America, Asia, or Russia and Eastern Europe. Preference will be given to candidates who have an ability to teach courses in Human Rights, Indigenous Politics, Comparative Legal Systems, or Stateless Peoples. The appointment will be made at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor and will commence on July 1, 2025, subject to budgetary approval. Candidates must possess, or be nearing completion of, a Ph.D. in Political Science, have an active research agenda and a commitment to high quality undergraduate teaching.
We seek candidates who will contribute broadly to the delivery of curriculum in the Department’s academic programs (Political Science, International Relations, Canadian Public Policy and Philosophy, Politics and Economics) as well as to provide support to the Frank McKenna School of Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach the equivalent of five 3-credit courses at the second, third, and fourth year levels and to participate in the Department’s introductory course (on a rotational basis). The candidate is also expected to develop a creative, independent and productive research agenda.
