Job Description :
Position : Project Manager
Reports To : President
Phoenix Steel Inc. is looking for a motivated & experienced Project Manager, to augment our growing team.
The candidate will require a minimum of 5 years of experience in managing both Miscellaneous Metals, and Light-to-Medium Structural Steel Projects.
The Project Manager will plan, organize, and control every aspect of multiple Projects, and should have intimate knowledge of the details of each project, as well as technical expertise. He / she will coordinate all project elements, from Award, through Drafting / Engineering, Shop Fabrication and Field Erection, until Closeout.
Responsibilities & Duties :
- Review of Project Folders with the Estimating Team to determine Scope, Budgets, Schedules, and Deliverables
- Management of all Drafting & Engineering requirements, from RFI’s, Shop Drawing submittals, to final approval
- Coordination with project Stakeholders, regarding Phasing, Scheduling, and Milestones
- Assist with the resolution of design issues all project Stakeholders, including Consultant Engineers & Architects, and Subcontractors
- Attend preconstruction Project kickoff meetings
- Coordination of Material Purchases from approved Vendors, while balancing Quality, Cost, and timely Delivery
- Administration of Contracts to approved Subcontractors, with consideration to various predetermined Selection Criteria prior to award
- Coordination of approved drawings with the Fabrication Shop Team, to ensure project schedule adherence, while assisting with the resolution of any drawing or material procurement issues
- Preparation of Project Costing Reports at various set Milestones, to determine if the project is on track, of if any corrective action is required
- Preparation of Schedule of Values for use in Progress Billing, and ensure timely submittal to Accounting Department, for Invoicing
- Analysis and approval / rejection of Vendor / Subcontractor Invoices, and timely submittal to Accounting Department for processing
- Management and Execution of all project Extras / Credits through thorough analysis of all Change Requests with all relevant project Stakeholders
- Management of all subcontracted Field Installation Crews, with periodic visits to the various Jobsites, and resolution of any issues between Subcontractors and other Project Personnel
- Continuously maintain the Project Folder throughout the duration of the Project, and provide Closeout Documentation (As Built Drawings, Warranties etc.) on Project completion
- Communicate regularly with the President, and any other Project Team Members on project progress. Identify any current or potential issues (internal or external), and assist with resolution
- Work in compliance with the Phoenix Steel Inc. Health & Safety Program, The Occupational Health & Safety Act and any other Federal or Provincial Regulations
- Use Personal Protective Equipment as directed, when necessary
- Work independently with minimum supervision, for a minimum of 40 hours per week
