Start Date : As soon as possible

Vacancies : 12 Shifts :

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

5 days on 2 days off, 5 days on 2 days off, 5 days on 3 days off : EVE Shift (3pm-11pm)

5 days on 2 days off, 5 days on 2 days off, 5 days on 3 days off : NIGHT Shift (11pm-7am)

Part-time

5 days on 2 days off, 5 days on 3 days off, 4 days on 3 days off : DAY / EVE shift (7am-3pm / 3pm to 11pm), 33.5 hours per week

4 days on 4 days off : NIGHT Shift (11pm-7am), 26.25 hours per week

Casual : Varies

Wages : $32.84 - $41.35 per hour

Must Haves :

Graduation from a recognizedPractical Nursesprogram or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience recognized by the BCCNM.

Maintains a Valid First Aid and CPR “A” Certificate.

Maintain Occupational First Aide Level 1 status (may be a Level 2 depending on site).

Satisfactory proof of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Passes and complies with Ministry of Justice Criminal record Check upon hire and every 5 years thereafter.

Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbal and written.

Nice to Haves :

Gerontological experience preferred.

MDS education (Gold Care or Point Click Care).

1-2 years’ experience in a complex care site is preferred.

Responsibilities :

Observes, monitors, documents and updates information about resident’s physical and psychological condition, care, and nursing procedures.

Provides and assists with personal care to residents as required.

Supports emergency staff scheduling, as required.

Ensures adherence to Infection Control Practices and provides educationas required for Outbreak and basic infection control practices.

Assesses resident health status including, but not limited to :

Differentiating between normal and abnormal physical findings

Recognizing deviations from mental health baseline, differentiating between dementia and delirium

Assesses and monitors resident’s actual and potential strengths and limitations including physiological, psychological, socio-cultural, and spiritual needs.

Taking appropriate action such as consulting with the primary physician or making referral to the Mental Health Team.
