Job description

WHO WE ARE

CFMWS. A job with purpose. Our 4000+ person strong organization champions a healthy, fun, creative and active lifestyle for Canadian Armed Forces members, Veterans and their families. Help us deliver a variety of recreation and fitness programs, offer family support, organize charity events and make sure our members access retail, travel and banking discounts and customized financial services. At Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS), we love what we do. And we live it too.

THE ROLE

Imagine the excitement and ability to show off your incredible skills in a deployed environment (overseas) for six months delivering exercise and reconditioning services to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and partner nations from across the world. As a deployed Reconditioning Specialist team member, you are not just delivering these critical services, but enhancing the overall morale and welfare of all the troops deployed.

The Reconditioning Specialist is part of an enthusiastic team of adventurous individuals who enjoy meaningful employment and contributing in a team-based, land based environment. Excited by the opportunity to deploy as a civilian among our CAF personnel abroad, you are a team player in a fast-paced setting. You are able to adapt to new challenges in an ever-changing dynamic environment.

You will have the opportunity to work with a very highly motivated and professional clientele who are eager to improve their condition. You will lead reconditioning programs for Canadian Armed Forces members who may be affected with a medical condition and improve their functional abilities related to their limitations. You will have expertise in designing specific programs and services that support reconditioning and prevent future injury.

Being a subject matter expert in your field, you will support your local team in providing training and professional development and provide overall management of the program. You will assist partners promoting healthy practices and injury prevention through initiatives such as educational programs, special events and other activities related to physical fitness.

In addition, the Reconditioning Specialist assists with recreational activities and events. Keeping the military energized ensures they are mentally and physically ready to sustain the difficulties of military operations, and live healthy, balanced lives.
