Job Description

The successful applicant will assist with corn and canola field research activities at the Corteva research station. This position will be a 4- or 6-month term, depending on candidate availability, beginning in mid-late April.

Work hours are Mon-Fri, 7.5 hours per day, with some overtime and weekend work required during peak periods.

Responsible for small scale research plot activities including field scouting, plot maintenance, field data collection, and harvest.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma. Enrolment in a post-secondary agriculture program would be an asset.
  • Experience with agronomy or agricultural or other field work would be an asset.

Requirements

  • Committed to safe work practices
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivation and problem solving
  • Ability to work well alone or as part of a team
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time
  • Valid provincial driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
  • May be required to do physical lifting and work in varying ergonomic environments
