JomboneBathurst, New BrunswickThe Role : As an RN or LPN in the Obstetrics Unit, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to expectant mothers and newborns throughout the perinatal period. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery, ensuring a safe and compassionate environment for families.
Responsibilities :
Conduct thorough assessments of maternal and fetal health, monitoring vital signs and recognizing any potential complications.
Provide care during labor and delivery, assisting with the administration of medications and pain management techniques.
Educate patients and families about childbirth, breastfeeding, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.
Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Support emotional and psychological needs of patients, providing guidance and reassurance during the childbirth experience.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and protocols.
Requirements :
Current RN or LPN license in good standing within the province.
Certification in BLS and ACLS preferred; certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is a plus.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in obstetrics, maternal-child health, or a related nursing field is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster effective patient and family interactions.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies with calmness and professionalism.
- Fluent in English and French.
