Position : 205435 Expected Start Date : March 24, 2025 Union : HSAS Facility : Leader and District Integrated Healthcare Facility City / Town : Leader Department : Ambulance - Land Type : Part-time temporary Expected Up to Date : July 01, 2025 FTE : 0.75 Shift Information : Days, Nights, Evenings, Weekends, Standby Hours of Work : 14 shifts of 8 hours per 4 weeks Relief : No Float : No Field Hours : No Salary or Pay Band : Pay Band Emergency Medical Technician $29.909 to $36.572 Travel Required : No Job Description : Reporting to the Southwest EMS Operations Manager the Emergency Medical Technician - Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) is responsible for responding to emergent and non-emergent EMS calls for service; and for providing initial assessment, treatment, stabilization and transport of ill or injured persons at the Basic Life Support level. The PCP will provide care with strict adherence to : Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) core values, policies, and work standards; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Paramedic Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and SCoP Regulatory and Administrative Bylaws; and The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations. Human Resources Exemption : No Education Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP) Licenses Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) Automated External Defibrillator Certificate (AED) International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training CMA accredited Pre-hospital Care Program-EMR Competencies Intermediate - Conflict resolution skills Advanced - Listening skills Advanced - Interpersonal skills Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of EMS Practitioners legislation / protocols / scope of practice Ability to work independently Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Positive approach to deal with challenging situations with empathy and sincerity Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions Physical ability to perform the duties of the position Decision making through the application of clinical, legal & ethical practice Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System.
