BASIC FUNCTION The Swing Operator will be responsible for daily control room, facility, and field support. Must be trained in all posts to provide vacation coverage and support during daily and upset conditions in required units. PRINCIPAL ROLES & REPONSIBILITIES Support and comply with the policies, goals, efforts, and programs of IPC's Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System. Must ensure HSE issues are given primary consideration in all activities undertaken within area of responsibility. Ensures the safety of the work environment for all employees.Follow (SOP) standard operating procedures, including reviews and improvements to existing (SOP’s). Develop (SOP’s) if required and participate in scheduled audits. Is actively and responsibly involved in the Facility Competency Training program.Has a full and comprehensive understanding of all the process and safety systems to control the facilities in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.Responsible for control and operation of the entire facility via the DCS, must work closely with facility and Field operations team to ensure safe and efficient operation of the facility when in the control room.Responsible for daily housekeeping duties, testing, data collection, shift turnover notes and daily ABSA ELECTRONIC-LOG when working the control room. Responsible for providing mentoring, development and training to junior staff members in every area of the facility.Play a key support role in completion of daily maintenance activities.Trained and available to work all units if required for coverage and upset conditions. REQUIRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS3rd ABSA Class Power Engineering Certificate minimum requirement (Progressing towards 2nd ABSA Class Power Engineering Certificate is an asset)Minimum of 3 years of full-time control room experience in a SAGD operations. Experience with Delta-V distributed control system is an asset.In addition to the 3 years of control room experience, all candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of SAGD operating experience.High school diploma or equivalentA valid class 5 driver's license with a clean driving recordA consist and positive attitude, highly motivated and seeks continuous improvement.Strong computer and organizational skills, mechanical aptitude, and strong troubleshooting skills.Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONThe remote location of the facility requires camp based accommodations working a 10x10 rotating schedule, 12-hours per shift (including weekends and holidays). The facility is located approximately 35km North / West of Wandering River, AB. and 240kms NE of Edmonton, AB.
