Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Desired Current College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) License Provisional Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) Mandatory Emergency Desired Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) Eligible Obstetric Desired Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PAL) Desired Surgical Mandatory Role and Facility Information We are seeking someone who is passionate about rural medicine and outdoor adventure. If you're looking to spend less time commuting and more time by the ocean, Prince Rupert might be for you. This is a unique opportunity to create the practice you want while achieving work-life balance in a beautiful, coastal city. Join a collaborative, supportive multi-disciplinary maternity team including FP-OBs (some with advanced surgical skills), midwives, and perinatal nurses providing full spectrum maternity care to the diverse population of Prince Rupert, the surrounding First Nations villages, and Haida Gwaii. The Obstetrician / Gynecologist has at least 1 OR slate per week. The selected candidate must be experienced in laparoscopic procedures. C-Section call is shared with an FP-OSS and locum Ob-Gyns. The Obstetrics and Gynecology office is located within Prince Rupert Regional Hospital. The hospital is a 25 bed facility offering a full range of services including : 2 High Acuity Beds Internal medicine Obstetrics and Gynecology Other facilities in Prince Rupert include : Acropolis Manor (long-term care) Prince Rupert Community Health Community Cancer Clinic Prince Rupert is home to amazing wildlife and wilderness adventures, unique history and cultural experiences, and the spectacular scenery of the rugged Coast Mountain Range and the Great Bear Rain Forest. Easily accessible by air, rail, cruise ship, ferry, or car, Prince Rupert’s attractions include First Nation cultural works of art, fine North Coast galleries and boutiques, parks and walking trails, restaurants, and coffee shops. A balanced lifestyle might include enjoying a round of golf on the golf course or spending time out on the water kayaking, fishing, or taking in the scenery. Reasonable housing costs, organized sports, volunteer opportunities, modern recreation facilities, community groups, and festivals all contribute to a comfortable and fulfilling lifestyle for those living in this community. May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including : Retention Premium 24.5% Retention Flat Fee $37,968 Relocation Funding Available $9,000-15,000 Recruitment Incentive $20,000 Prince Rupert is the largest city in northwestern British Columbia and a gateway to the Queen Charlotte Islands, the famed Inside Passage, and smaller towns in the area. Amidst fjords, rain forests, lagoons, and sandy beaches, Prince Rupert is surprisingly cosmopolitan with all the modern conveniences of a larger city, including a performing arts centre, restaurants, and a lively nightlife.
