partner staffing on behalf of our Client we are looking for an experienced and dynamic Electrical Designer (Oil & Gas, Waste Water, Food & Beverage) in their Edmonton office to lead the design of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, instrumentation, control panels, and grounding solutions for projects in Oil & Gas, Waste Water, and Food & Beverage industries.
Requirements
Qualifications :
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technologist Diploma, or a related field.
- Eligible for or registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or P.L.Eng with APEGA.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience, including :
- Designing control panels, MCCs, VFDs, and motor layouts.
- Developing PLC / DCS cabinet designs.
- Sizing and specifying electrical equipment.
- Creating single-line diagrams, schematics, and termination details.
- Instrumentation loop design and wiring.
- Planning cable routing, tray layouts, heat tracing, and lighting.
- Conducting power and grounding system studies.
- Testing and commissioning on-site systems.
- Applying the Canadian Electrical Code Parts 1 and 2.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical.

Responsibilities : Oversee electrical system designs, including power distribution, lighting, instrumentation, control panels, and grounding solutions for projects in Oil and Gas, Waster Water and Food and Beverages. Produce detailed CAD drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams. Review designs, address issues, and ensure deliverables meet quality standards. Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide technical advice. Foster and maintain professional relationships with clients, engineers, and contractors. Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and plans. Working Conditions : Travel : 30% travel required (local and out-of-town). Possible overtime and weekend work as needed.
