Building Operator – Commercial Property

Your New Company

You’ll be working on a premier property where excellence and technical expertise are expected, providing an exciting opportunity to work with the latest in building systems and innovation.

Your New Role

As a Building Operator, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating commercial properties to the highest standards. Your key duties will include :

  • Operating and maintaining HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, and other building equipment.
  • Responding to tenant requests and ensuring exceptional customer service.
  • Conducting regular inspections of building exteriors and interiors.
  • Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Managing supplies, ordering materials, and tracking inventory.
  • Coordinating with contractors and obtaining quotes for work as needed.
  • Assisting with fire safety system inspections, generator tests, and emergency procedures.
  • Participating in an on-call rotation and supporting emergency response protocols.
  • Keeping detailed maintenance logs and records.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Minimum 5th Class ABSA Power Engineering Certification (active).
  • 1-3 years of experience in building maintenance, preferably in large commercial properties.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Commitment to safety standards and emergency procedures.
