Job descriptionCompletion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset. Previous experience within a pharmacy is preferred. Skilled in using Kroll and highly accurate and efficient in prescription data entry. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes / containers Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed 40 hours per week. Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Scales Drug Store in Swan River, Manitoba .
Patient Focused Care Responsibilities :
- Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
- Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
- Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
- Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
- Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
- Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
- Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned
