Job descriptionPartner with production teams to implement and track operational efficiency metrics. Partner with the Production Control Manager to understand labor variances Lead or assist inventory control initiatives such as slow-moving stock, obsolete inventory evaluations, and semi-annual physical inventory counts. Prepare and deliver cost performance reports (daily, weekly, monthly) to stakeholders, including variance and margin analysis against forecasts and budgets. Key performance indicator reporting, including performance against productivity objectives. Capital expenditure evaluation and reporting. Assist in year-end audits. Analyze product margins, support pricing strategy revisions, and assist in annual budgeting processes. Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Experience : Minimum 7-8 years in cost accounting within a manufacturing setting. Technical Skills : Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities. Proficient written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders
We are seeking a results-driven Senior Cost Accountant to partner with manufacturing and operations teams in supporting financial and operational excellence. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment where you will play a key role in cost analysis, inventory management, decision support, and financial reporting for one manufacturing facility in the North GTA. This role is ideal for a proactive and analytical professional with a strong background in cost accounting and operations. The position reports directly to the Corporate Controller with close collaboration across production, engineering, services, and management teams.
Key Responsibilities :
Manufacturing Cost Accounting and Analysis
- Monitor and analyze daily manufacturing transactions for accuracy and relevance
- Strong knowledge of Percentage of Completion accounting.
- Review and update standards (labor, material, and burden) to maintain accurate cost data
- Perform root-cause analyses for cost variances and support operational teams in addressing inefficiencies.
- Maintain accuracy of fixed asset listing
