The Department of Executive and Indigenous Affairs (EIA) works to provide overall management and direction to the Executive branch of the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT). EIA is responsible for ensuring mutually respectful intergovernmental relations between the territorial government and Indigenous, provincial, territorial and national and international governments are maintained; along with negotiating and implementing land, resources and self-government agreements that address Aboriginal rights in the Northwest Territories (NWT).

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for economic and financial analysis? Do you want to use your skills to improve healthcare delivery and sustainability in a unique and challenging environment? The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is seeking a Senior Economic and Financial Analyst to join the Department of Health and Social Services in Yellowknife.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain sophisticated financial and economic models using a variety of techniques (e.g., regression, trend, variance, cost analysis).
- Conduct research and jurisdictional scans to evaluate healthcare policy and program changes.
- Support the design, implementation, and evaluation of strategic initiatives and fiscal reforms.
- Analyze the costs and implications of healthcare delivery across regions, including private contracts and inter-jurisdictional agreements.
- Define and assess the appropriate scope of core health and social services in the NWT.
- Develop benchmarks and performance indicators to evaluate service delivery effectiveness.
- Prepare briefings, reports, and business cases for senior leadership, including Deputy Ministers and Cabinet Committees.
- Provide mentorship to junior analysts and collaborate with evaluation and performance specialists.
- Ensure compliance with relevant GNWT legislation and financial policies.
