Our Recreation Counsellors work in multiple fun positions in various locations and program formats ranging from weekly classes to day camps. In each program, you will have the opportunity to lead activities that help our community members learn new skills and make social connections. You will be working with a variety of ages in this position. You will plan and organize recreational activities; for example, leading arts and crafts, sports, and outdoor adventures. You will get experience designing recreational activities, teaching and leading individuals and groups while ensuring a healthy and safe environment. QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED Education, Certifications and Licenses An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered Current CPR and Basic First Aid Qualifications Vulnerable Sector Check HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE Sport HIGH FIVE Healthy Minds for Healthy Children Experience In working with children In leading children in activities In applying safety protocols and procedures In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail and Internet browsing Competencies Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
