Job Duties Job Duties JOB SUMMARY
The incumbent will assist the Audio-Visual team with all tasks associated with the support services offered by this group. The AV Assistant will contribute to the ongoing development and upgrading of AV Services.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Tech support and admin support for Live streaming video deliveries (onsite video conference support)
In a remote teaching environment, acts as liaison between onsite instructors and off-site students and Faculty and administrators. implementing best practices for remote teaching in conjunction with Program heads and Admin Chairs, collect and distribute (either physically or digitally) confidential material
Configure the learning space for the originating site in a remote teaching situation to ensure that remote site students have an educational experience equal to the in-class students
The incumbent is required to maintain up to date tech reports
Assist Audio Visual technicians with day-to-day operations, including presentation equipment installations, trouble shooting and maintenance, event set up, inventory updates, offer help with open door service in the AV shop, general shop duties
Administrative duties to support AV Services – generating and maintaining reporting activities, circulation of department communications, requires a good working knowledge of Office tools and in some cases a more advanced knowledge of these applications. Support AV Techs with any admin duties and projects. Create manuals for new procedures and maintain up to date versions of those manuals. Maintaining site content for the AV Support Page and Tech report entry system. Maintaining the online lending systems for AV equipment and assisting the techs with logistics of the program or entry of items lent / returned. Maintenance and distribution of department files and online filing system.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE Specific Accountabilities Duties Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)
Demonstrated knowledge of AV systems
Knowledge of Video Conference Equipment and methods (Zoom / Teams)
Knowledge of digital media formats and storage options
Knowledge of best practices for delivering distance education
Knowledge of camera operation and configurations
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products (including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Outlook)
Knowledge of SharePoint, Our Collaborate and Teams
Basic knowledge of Video Online Management Systems
Knowledge corporate purchasing systems, and requisition processes
