Canam currently has an opportunity for a permanent fulltime professional Civil Structural Building Engineer at our steel joist and deck manufacturing facility in Calgary.

As a member of our engineering team your responsibilities will include :

• Design joist members and welds in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Provide engineering support to the drafting team and other departments.
• Review and interpret contract documents to ensure all specifications are met during fabrication.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fabrication and site problems.
• Check special designs review drafting and shop orders and signoff on projects.
• Develop repair procedures and create sketches for misfabrication or sitespecific conditions.
• Promote a positive work environment through effective communication and professional interactions with customers coworkers and supervisors.

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications :

A bachelors degree in Civil Structural or Building Engineering.

Strong understanding of engineering theories principles and Canadian Engineering standards.

Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with the Association of Professional Engineers of Alberta or another Canadian jurisdiction or eligible for licensure.

Exceptional organizational skills and proficiency in English communication (verbal and written).

Demonstrate punctuality maturity reliability and professionalism.

This role requires a proactive and detailoriented individual who thrives in a dynamic environment.

Working safely is a condition of employment at Canam.

Primarily a standard office setting with regular use of computer display screens along with occasional exposure to a manufacturing shop environment.
